Hopatcong, New Jersey

The Borough of Hopatcong is a residential community with approximately 16,000 people. It is the third largest municipality in Sussex County. The Borough of Hopatcong encompasses the western shore of Lake Hopatcong (left side of the image below) and lands to the west including Bear Pond. The history of the Borough of Hopatcong parallels the history of the Lake - from its emergence as a great hotel resort, to its evolution into a summer community similar to the Jersey shore, and its eventual transformation into a year round community. See the official Hopatcong Borough website for more information.
